Peran Guru dalam Penerapan Mentoring di Sekolah pada Sekolah Kristen Nafiri Sion Tana Toraja

The degradation of young people's lives today may occur as a result of the progress of time and technology. The role of parents and teachers as mentors for them can help overcome the degradation of young people’s lives today. Teachers as mentors in schools today are facing increasingly challenges in guiding their students. Mentoring plays an important role in developing each individual’s capacity and competence in the learning process, particularly in terms of knowledge, attitudes, values, experiences, and wisdom. The success of the educational process in producing quality students can be influenced by the role of teachers as mentors. The urgency of implementing teacher training in the application of mentoring at schools is not only to remind teachers of their functions and duties as mentors, but also to encourage every teacher to carry out mentoring for each student. The method used in this activity is lectures and discussions. The activity was carried out at Nafiri Sion School, Kurra Village, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. The writing method used is descriptive qualitative. Mentoring is a rational experience in which a teacher empowers students, helps each student understand their strengths and weaknesses, recognize their potential, and enhance their abilities through the mentoring process.
