Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics Phronesis: Jurnal Teologi dan Misi is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and includes a code of conduct for editor-in-chief, editorial board members, reviewers, and authors. Phronesis: Jurnal Teologi dan Misi is the journal of the Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Injili Arastamar (SETIA) Jakarta. Articles published in Phronesis: Jurnal Teologi dan Misi are important building blocks in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network in education, and they are a direct reflection of the authors and the quality of the institution. It is therefore important to agree on standards of ethical behaviour expected of all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public. Editor of Phronesis: Jurnal Teologi dan Misi is committed to ensuring that all procedures are directed only to facilitate objective and intellectual treatment. Furthermore, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political and group interests. Software is used to avoid plagiarism between articles.

 

Author's Task

1. Responsible for ensuring only new and original works are submitted (no plagiarism).
2. Reproduction of works that have been previously published in other journals may not be allowed.
3. You may not submit articles that are being reviewed or considered by a journal to other journals simultaneously.
4. Author is only allowed to publish his work elsewhere after receiving an official rejection from the journal or if the journal officially accepts the withdrawal request.
5. Must inform the editor-in-chief or publisher of data inaccuracies in their published work to make corrections or retractions of articles.
6. Must make significant contributions and take responsibility for any deficiencies in their articles.

Reviewer's Task

1. Must disclose any conflicting interests before agreeing to review the submission.
2. May refuse to review any submission due to conflict of interest or insufficient knowledge.
3. Review all submissions objectively, fairly, and professionally.
4. Disclosing any ethical violations encountered during a review to the editor-in-chief for further action.
5. Must ensure originality of submissions and beware of plagiarism and over-publication.
6. Do not discuss the content of the post without permission. 
7. Adhere to the time allotted for the review process. Requests for an extension to review submissions are at the discretion of the editor-in-chief.

Editor's Task

1. Contribute actively to the development and the greater good of the journal.
2. Act as an ambassador for the journal.
3. Continue to support and promote the journal.
4. Review any work assigned to them.

Editor-in-Chief Duties

1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely based on their intellectual merit.
2. Guarantee the confidentiality of the manuscript and not disclose information about the manuscript to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process.
3. Have the responsibility to decide when and which articles to publish.
4. Actively seeks the views of board members, reviewers, and authors on improving the journal's image and visibility.
5. Give potential contributors clear instructions about the submission process and what is expected of the author.
6. Ensure appropriate reviewers for the review process.
